How to Spot A Legitimate Paid Survey Panel

  1. The site should be hosted by an actual market research company with a web presence and contact information.
  2. The site should never charge fees or make exaggerated earning claims. Most online surveys pay anywhere from $2 to $25 per survey
  3. Check for an "about page" for some company history and specific information about their panel.
  4. Make sure the site looks professional, and does not just contain a bunch of links to other survey sites. Real market research firms do not advertise a bunch of other survey links, they just offer online surveys.
  5. Make sure the panel has a members area where you can view your stats, earnings, and member profile. Also if a site offers sweepstakes earnings, check for a current winners list.
  6. If it sounds to good to be true than beware!
  7. Google the site. What are other people saying about it? Read unbiased reviews from other members.
  8. Still unsure which sites to join. Don't worry I will list a few good paid survey panels to get you started.

Teen surveys - TeensEyes Review - Paid surveys site

TeensEyes.com is a site just for teens ages 13-18 years old. Once you or your kid registers, they will then get invitations to fill our surveys marketed toward teens. I have sat with my 16-year-old son through every survey and they were about sports drinks, snacks, after school activities, deodorant preferences, internet usage, and similar fare. There are no surveys that ask for personal things like sexuality or anything that should not be revealed in a survey or that would make a kid uncomfortable. Your teen will pick a user name and password and will be able to log in at any time to see how many points he or she has accrued, take no point surveys, and read the latest results of polls and surveys.

They get a sign up bonus of 500 points and every survey is worth from 100-500 points each. Points can be cashed in for money at 100 points to the dollar after they have accumulated 1000 points. It's easy to get to 1000 points since they start at 500. My son has 2400 points in his account and, when he hits 2500, will cash out and start over. I find no invasion of privacy, no spamming, and nothing inappropriate or misleading with this survey site. They have a sister one called KidzEyes.com for younger kids with the same basic set up.

The conclusion

TeensEyes.com is a reliable site for teens that pays cash for surveys. Kids can easily accrue points by answering surveys and joining consumer panels. There is no spamming of the teen's email (I signed my son up with my email to see what was happening and I have never been spammed or otherwise bothered by the site.) and surveys are age appropriate without being personal in nature. I like this site and my son enjoys giving his views on things he knows about. 5 stars. Your kid won't get rich but he or she can make a few bucks for expressing their opinions.

Pinecone Research Review

I am always looking for ways to generate extra income into our household. What better way, than by doing something I already enjoy doing?

Over the past twelve months, I have signed up for more than fifty Pay Programs.

The Pay to Click sites require more time and effort, than I am willing to give.
Especially after one of those sites burned me for thirty dollars!

Most of the Survey Sites, have never bothered to contact me after I registered.
Others do contact me asking me to participate in surveys, that will reward me by placing my name into a monthly drawing. Yeah, right. I feel this is a scam, where no one wins. I do not waste my time on these surveys.

On a more positive note, I have found three sites that actually do pay you to take surveys.

Pinecone Research, (formerly known as Acorn Research) is one of the three sites that I have found to be legitimate. It is the most dependable and consistent survey program I have found, making it my favorite.

Membership at Pinecone Research is not an easy task to accomplish. It took me six months to become a panel member. I made several unsuccessful attempts, by going to their website and looking for a link to join. Finally after I had given up on the idea, a friend of mine sent me the sign up page. Becoming a member, is definitely the hardest part.

Pinecone Research invites me to participate in surveys twice a month, on the average. It is my understanding they will also send my husband and children surveys that apply to them. I am the only one in my household that has been asked to participate, so far.

I have found the surveys to be very interesting. The surveys are very easy to complete, usually taking only ten to fifteen minutes. I like learning about new products*, before they hit the shelves. I have been looking for a new, low fat product* that I took a survey on last month. It is not available for purchase yet. I will buy it as soon as it becomes available.

Pinecone Research also sends products* for me to try, via UPS. I am currently trying one of the products*. I am not as interested in this product*.
But that's the beauty of it~
I can try it, and it doesn't cost me anything. Actually, they pay me to find out if I like it or not.

I am very impressed with the promptness of payment from Pinecone Research.

I was paid five dollars in advance for the first survey I participated in. I have received five dollars every time I have taken a survey or tried a product.

Sometimes it takes up to three days for the check to make it to my mail box. I think this an extremely acceptable amount of time to wait.

I am happy to be a member of Pinecone Research. They have always done exactly what they said they would do. I have never needed to contact Customer Service. I do have
an email address and a telephone number for Karen Scott, should I have any problems.

I do wish I could participate in surveys more often. But two surveys a month that actually do pay ~ are worth much more than any amount of surveys that ~ "will enter your name into our monthly drawing "!

I also enjoy reading the very helpful and interesting information posted in their Pinecone Newsletter, found at their website.

The Treehouse is posted monthly and is divided into these categories~

A Word From Karen contains all of holidays for the current month. As well as numerous suggestions for fun family activities.

In A Nutshell is directed toward your safety. Here you will learn how to disable cookies on your computer. They provide you with addresses to make web searches even more anonymous and also addresses for email privacy, using anonymous remailers.

Treehouse Games has fun, mind challenging games. The current game is Match The Definition. (Answers are provided on a separate page.)

Treehouse Trivia is full of trivia facts. This month they are in reference to Independence Day and America.

Ask Karen lists questions and answers pertaining to surveys and testing products. You will also find the email address and telephone number needed for member support.

You do not have to be a member to view the newsletter.
You may want to check it out to learn about internet safety or summer activities to do with your children.
Or if for nothing more than to expand your knowledge.
Did you know that fulminate means to shout?
Okay, how about loquacious? Very talkative.
I told you they were fun and mind challenging!

LightSpeed Consumer Panel Review

Regions Of Participation:
US, Canada, UK, and Australia
Minimum Age to Join: 18 years old
Rewards: LightSpeed Points and Sweepstakes Entries
Average Pay Per Survey: 75 to 1000 points (1150 points = $10)
Url: www.lightspeedpanel.com

LightSpeed Consumer Panel Company Background

The Lightspeed Consumer Panel website is owned by Lightspeed Research, which was founded in 1999 by its parent company, WPP. WPP is one of the world's leading communications services groups. Lightspeed Research's clients include Fortune 500 companies worldwide. From major transportation companies to global media conglomerates, their clients understand that market research plays a vital role in their business decisions.

Program Details and Our Suggestions

Getting Started. You must first complete a one-page sign up form, where you can submit your email address and password. This will serve as your login so that you can access their member's site. Lightspeed has a very good member's area which contains profile surveys and quick match surveys than can make you eligible for more surveys. You should fill out all of the profile surveys in the Surveys About You section, and take some of the Quick Match surveys to further enhance your profile. This will get you off to to a good start, and should increase your amount of survey invitations.

In addition to the profile surveys, the member's area contains your current survey invitations, Mini-polls, and Quick Match Surveys. The surveys are reward with points, and the Mini-Polls and Quick Match Surveys are rewarded with an entry into the $5000 Lightspeed Sweepstakes entry. There is also a Rewards section and a Frequently Ask Questions section that list past winners, answers to common questions, and details about all of the rewards offered. Also, and best of all, they have the Lightspeed Points Account section where you can check your current balance and redeem your points for cash via PayPal, or choose from a wide selection of gift certificates or merchandise.

What to expect? In addition to being able to view current surveys in the member's area, Lightspeed will automatically email you survey invitations that they feel may be a close match for your profile. Each invitation will include the estimated time to complete the survey, the reward for completing the survey, and sometimes may include the topic of the survey. The amount of surveys you will receive depends on your profile and the current studies being conducted, but in general you should expect several invitations a week. The surveys are rewarded with some point offering, a sweepstakes entry, and the Points-A-Day Giveaway. Most surveys average about 75 to 300 points, but some more in depth surveys and product trials have higher rewards. Currently 115 points = $1. One of the best features of LightSpeed is that they offer payment via PayPal. If you choose to redeem your points for PayPal cash, you will recieve payment by the next business day.

Advice: It is a good idea to take all of the profile surveys, and several of the mini-polls to establish your profile with Lightspeed. This should ensure that you get several survey invitations per week. Since Lightspeed sends many survey invitations, I would recommend that you definitely take the higher point survey invitations, and as many of the others that you have time for; in general you should take at least one to two surveys per week to keep your account active. Also it is a good idea to keep your profile surveys up to date, and to take some of the mini-polls and quick match surveys from time to time. If you follow these steps, you should receive plenty of survey invitations from Lightspeed.

Review

Scale: 1 = Lowest, 10 = Highest

Quality of Surveys (7)

  • Surveys are easy to understand
  • Surveys are fairly interesting, but some are a little long.

Compensation for Surveys (7)

  • Compensation for each completed survey is fair.
  • Even if you do not qualify for a survey, you are still entered into a cash sweepstakes drawing.

Frequency of Surveys (9)

  • LightSpeed sends many paid survey invitations.

Timely Payment / Payment Options (9)

  • 1150 point ($10) minimum before you can request payment.
  • They offer PayPal payment, and usually deliver payment within two business days of redemption.

Survey Panel Member's Area Site (10)

  • Excellent Member's Area Site. Links to view current surveys, profile boosters, redemption area, and much more.
  • Link to past LightSpeed Sweepstakes winners, and FAQ's section with answers to common questions.

Overall Panel Ranking (8.4)

The Conclusion

Compensation for surveys is fair, although they occasionally they give you much higher value surveys in the way of focus groups or in depth surveys. They have a $10 (1150 points) minimum for cash redemption, but they offer a steady stream of surveys so its not too hard to reach. Plus, they have PayPal payment option which speeds up payment time. Lightspeed gets our recommendation for definitely worth joining.

Opinion Outpost Review

Regions Of Participation: United States and Canada
Minimum Age to Join: Must be at least 18 years old

Get paid taking online surveys
Program Details and Suggestions

Getting Started. Once you sign up to become a member at the Town Hall, you will gain access to the Opinion Outpost Grand Hotel members area. At the Grand Hotel you can gain access to your contact information, your member profiles and survey history, your opinion points balance, answers to common questions, and a referral page where you can earn extra points for referring your friends. Currently they our offering 10 points for each referral. Our first recommendation is to fill out the ten profile surveys in the members area. These profile surveys are not rewarded, but are quick to fill out, and especially make a big difference in the amount of surveys you receive from opinion outpost.

What to expect? After you sign up and complete your member profiles, Opinion Outpost will email you survey invitations when they have studies that match your profile. Each invitation will indicate the points that you can earn for completing the survey and the estimated time it will take to complete the survey. Most survey average between 10 to 100 points depending on the length of the survey. At 10 points = $1, most surveys pay between $1 to $10 dollars. Each survey starts out with some qualify questions, and if there are still open slots for your profile, you will be allowed to complete the survey. This is why it is a good idea to take the surveys as soon as you can after you get the email invitation. The amount of surveys you will receive depends on your profile and the current studies being conducted, but in general you should expect about four to eight invitations per month. Again, be sure you fill out your member profiles and keep them up to date, this makes a big difference with Opinion Outpost. I noticed a big difference in the amount of surveys I received after completing the profile surveys.

Like GlobalTestMarket, all of Opinion Out surveys are rewarded with points. Once you have accumulated at least 50 points you can go to the Bank in the members area and redeem your points for cash. They will pay you with a check as shown in the example below; you can expect to receive it within 6 weeks by mail.

Advice: Since you may not qualify for all of the surveys, and since Opinion Outpost does not send a large amount of surveys, we recommend that you take all of the surveys that they send you. Opinion Outpost requires that you attempt at least on survey every three months to maintain good standing as an active member. Failure to do so will result in a loss of your accumulated points! So, if you are not getting many surveys, check your profiles section, and make sure they are completed and up to date. The most important advice is to answer the surveys honestly, and to take time to answer them correctly. Rushing through the surveys will often cause you to overlook something and as a result not qualify for the survey. The better your responses, the more likely it is that you will be invited to take future paid surveys.

Review

Conclusion

Compensation for surveys is good, averaging anywhere from 10 to 100 points, which amounts to $1 to $10 per survey. You can redeem your points for cash when you have 50 points = $5. The frequency of surveys is good, and can be increased by completing your member profiles. The surveys are interesting, and they pay well for the time spent. This is a good panel to join to help add to your monthly earnings for taking surveys. Definitely Recommend!

Ciao: Paid Surveys Information

Ciao pays you to write online product reviews and answer paid surveys. It is optional if you choose to write product reviews, some people just choose to answer the surveys, other decide just to write product reviews. It is completely up to you, though obviously if you write product reviews and answer paid surveys then you will earn far more money.

Paid Surveys

After applying to join Ciao the free paid survey website, you will need to login to your account online to activate the surveys. You do this by answering your 'Basic Interests Profile'. This is a list of questions related to employment, family and lifestyle. These questions are asked so that Ciao knows which kind of surveys to send you, as they will only need to survey specific markets and certain groups of people. You can complete this by logging on to the Ciao website with your new username and password, and then click the 'Surveys' link at the top right of the screen. Complete the sections of questions on screen (should take around 15 minutes) and then within a few hours or a day you will start being sent surveys to complete by e-mail.

Types Of Surveys

If you complete your profile fully you should be sent 3 or 4 surveys per week, but this will depend on the type of person that you are, and will also depend on the demand for market-research. The surveys sent can be based on anything; from household products to Internet websites. Ciao will send you an email with a clickable link that takes you to the survey, which will be opened in a new window in your Internet Browser. The e-mail will state the amount that you will be paid should you complete the survey and also an estimate for how long it should take to complete. The rewards vary from about 70p to as much as £50 in some cases, and the surveys take between 5 and 30 minutes to complete (usually).

Unanswered Surveys
When Ciao send you a survey to complete, you usually have around 3 or 4 days to complete the survey. If it isn't completed within this time limit then usually the survey will expire, as enough people will have probably already replied. If you miss a survey, or just can't be bothered to reply to the survey, then you won't miss out at all. Obviously you won't get paid for that particular survey, but you will still be sent other surveys and won't be punished for not completing the last survey. At Ciao you are under no-obligation to complete any of the surveys sent to you, but obviously if you don't then you won't make much money from the website.

Checking Your Survey Earnings
Though every survey sent to you will contain an amount that you will earn from completing that particular survey, it is always nice to be able to see an overall amount for all the surveys completed and all the earnings generated. This can be done on the Ciao website at any time. Simply log on to the Ciao website and then click on the 'My Ciao' text link at the top right corner of the screen. Then click on the 'Account' tab at the middle-left of the screen. This will bring up a view of your Ciao account, where you can see earnings made from referring members to the site, writing product reviews and from answering paid surveys.

Requesting A Payment
At the moment Ciao only send payments out to members via a bank transfer. The Ciao website is completely safe and secure, and they deal with millions of members online accounts; it is a very safe and quick way to receive your account earnings. To request a payment from Ciao your account balance must be at least £5. To receive your first payment from the Ciao website you will need to login and click the 'My Ciao' text link. Click on the 'Settings' link and then select the 'Enter/Edit Bank details' text link. Enter in your UK bank account number and then sorting code. When you have submitted this information you will not need to enter it onto the Ciao website again. To request a payment you need to select the 'Account' tab and then scroll down to select 'Request Payment'.

Program Details and Suggestions

Getting Started. You can sign up for the Your2Cents paid survey panel by clicking the registration link on this page. You then will be taken through a quick set of profile registration questions. Upon completion you must respond to a confirmation email. Once your confirm your registration will can gain access to the Your2Cents members page. The members site gives you access to your contact information, your bonus member profiles, your survey history, your cash balance / redeem balance page. Our first recommendation is to fill out the bonus profile surveys in the members area. You will usually get one extra dollar for each completed profile survey the next time you complete a member's survey. Plus these profile surveys will be used to match you up with future paid surveys.

What to expect? After you sign up and complete your member profiles, Your2Cents will automatically email you survey invitations that they feel may be a close match to your profile. The survey invitations will contain the topic of the survey, the estimated length of time to complete, and the reward being offered. I have found that it is also a good idea to login to the members area from time because Your2Cents is constantly adding bonus profile surveys that you should take for maximum reward potential. Plus, you can access current surveys in the member's area just in case you missed the email survey invitation.

The Your2Cents surveys always start out with a few qualifying questions, and if you match the profile that is needed you are asked to complete the survey and given the reward amount indicated in the email. If you do not qualify, you are entered into their $5000 cash giveaway sweepstakes. You also get one entry just for joining the panel. The number of surveys that you will receive from Your2Cents will vary, but in general you should expect between two to four invitations per month, with most averaging between $1 to $5 dollars each. However, completing the your bonus profiles can result in higher reward amounts for any one given survey. You can request cash payment in the form of a check once you have accumulated $5 or more.

Advice: We recommend that you take all of the cash surveys that Your2Cents sends you. They do a pretty good job with matching you up with surveys that match your interest and they do not offer many, so you should make an effort to take them all. If you have time be sure to check their member's area, and take any new booster profiles and keep your existing profiles up to date.

Your2Cents offers quality surveys with decent pay per survey, usually in the $1 to $5 dollar range. Most of there surveys offer cash incentives, and the cash amount is clearly marked in the survey invitation. Unlike other programs, they also offer bonus cash rewards in the form of booster profiles, for keeping your demographic information up to date. Their surveys can generally be completed in 15 minutes or less, making them a worthwhile event. There is a $5 minimum to redeem your cash balance, but this can easily be reached by completing one or two surveys. They issue prompt payment via check via the mail within 2 to 6 weeks. SurveySpot Review

Regions Of Participation: US, Canada, and UK
Minimum Age to Join: 18 years old
Rewards: Cash or Cash Sweepstakes Entry
Average Pay Per Cash Survey: $2 to $10

SurveySpot Company Information

SurveySpot was created by Survey Sampling International, partners with the world's leading researchers since 1977. They offer interesting surveys via their research panel, and in exchange for your opinions you can earn cash and prizes. To date, they have rewarded their members over $12 million in rewards and prizes.

Program Details and Our Suggestions

Getting Started. Once you sign up to become a member you will be issued a username and password so that you can access their members site. From their you can check your cash balance, check your survey history, cash out, and update your panelist information. Survey Spot pays about $2 to $10 per survey, although not all of the surveys are cash surveys, some are for sweepstakes entries and their Instant Win Game Play. In the Instant Win Game Play, you receive one token to play an online slot machine, where you can win one of the following prizes: a trip to Las Vegas, $1000 Amex Gift Cheques, a Canon digital camera, sweepstakes entries for their $25,000 dollar jackpot, or many other numerous prizes. You can request payout when you have at least $5 in your account.

What to expect? In addition to being able to view current surveys in the member's area, SurveySpot will automatically email you survey invitations that they feel may be a close match for your profile. Each invitation will indicate the survey topic, the estimated time to complete the survey, and the reward for completing the survey. The amount of surveys you will receive depends on your profile and the current studies being conducted, but in general you should expect several invitations a week. While most of the survey invitations are rewarded with an entry in their $25,000 sweepstakes and an Instant Win Game Play, you can still expect to receive several cash paid survey offers ranging from $1 to $10 per survey each month. I typically receive two to four cash survey invitations per week. You have to qualify for most of the cash surveys by answering a few introductory screener questions. Based on your answers and the survey client's needs, you may be asked to complete the survey. The good thing is that even if you don't qualify, you are usually still rewarded with a sweepstakes entry and Instant Win Game Play for attempting the survey. Do not be alarmed if you do not immediately see your earnings in the member's area for completing a survey, it can takes up to six weeks for survey earnings to be processed and be available for redemption. This is one of the few drawbacks with this otherwise exceptional panel. Following redemption from the member's area, you can expect a check by mail within two to four weeks.

Advice: It is a good idea to take the first couple of survey invitations to show your dedication to the panel. SurveySpot sends more survey invitations than most panels, so we only recommend that you take the cash incentive surveys that you feel are worth your time, and to take a few sweepstakes surveys a month that have topics that are interesting to you. Unless you simply have lots of time, I would not recommend taking all of the survey invitations they send out. It is too time consuming, and your time can better spent taking survey invitations from the other survey panels we recommend. The most important advice is to answer the surveys honestly, and to take time to answer them correctly. The better your responses, the more likely it is that you will qualify for your cash survey invitations, and be invited to take future paid surveys.

Review
Scale: 1 = Lowest, 10 = Highest

Quality of Surveys (9)

Surveys are easy to understand
Surveys are fairly interesting, and can generally be completed in less than 20 minutes

Compensation for Surveys (8)

Compensation for cash surveys is good ranging from $1 to $10 average for cash surveys
Most survey invitations are rewarding with sweepstakes and Instant Win Game Plays

Frequency of Surveys (10)

SurveySpot sends lots of survey invitations, with about 1 out of 4 being cash surveys.

Timely Payment / Payment Options (6)

$5 minimum required to request payment.
It can take up to six weeks from the time you complete a survey for a cash reward payment to be deposited into your SurveySpot account.
Payment delivered via mail, and usually arrives within 2 to 4 weeks.

Survey Panel Member's Area Site (8)

Links to view current surveys, redeem your unclaimed rewards, review your payment history, and update your member information.
Link to current and past SurveySpot Sweepstakes winners

Overall Panel Ranking (8.2)

The Bottom Line

SurveySpot offers good compensation per survey, and the quality of their surveys is good, with most taking less than 20 minutes to complete. You can expect many survey invitations; however, only about one in four will be cash survey invitations. This should still yield several paid survey invitations per month. The sign up process is quick, it is a consistent earner, and gets our recommendation for definitely worth joining.

Online paid survey site review - SurveySavvy Review

Regions Of Participation: International
Minimum Age to Join: Must be at least 14 years old
Rewards: Cash ($2 to $20 per survey)
Url: www.surveysavvy.com

SurveySavvy Company Background

SurveySavvy is part of Luth Research, LLC., a market research leader since 1977. Based in San Diego, California, Luth Research, LLC. has conducted countless interviews, focus groups and surveys for their clients. They have over 3 million members across 190 countries earning cash by participating in their online paid surveys.

Program Details and Suggestions

Getting Started. Once you sign up to become a member you will be issued a username and password so that you can access their members site. From their you can check your cash balance, get your referral code to refer friends, redeem your earnings, and most importantly access the member portraits (profile enhancers). Be sure to fill out the profiles to increase your chances of receiving paid survey invitations.

What to expect? Based on your user profile, you will occasionally get a screener survey (a short questionnaire to see if you are qualified for a survey). If you qualify and complete a survey you can expect to receive an average of $2 to $20 per survey. If you attempt do not qualify for the survey you are entered into a monthly sweepstakes drawing for fifty $10 prizes. In addition they have an excellent referral program; its probably the best recurring referral program I have encountered for paid survey panels. Members receive $2.00 every time one of their referrals takes a survey and $1.00 for every survey their referral's referral completes. Best of all SurveySavvy has no minimum threshold required to request payment.

Advice: Take all of the paid surveys that SurveySavvy sends your way. The payment is top notch, and since they do not send many invitations, you should take advantage of all the invitations they send. Again, be sure to complete the portraits in the member's area, as this will increase the number of survey invitations as well. Paid Online Survey Tips

How do paid survey companies pay you?

Paid Survey Companies conduct market research on behalf of companies that produce products and sell services. They offer you cash and prizes in exchange for your time and consumer opinions. Companies are constantly trying to improve their products, and before they launch a new product and an expensive advertising campaign, they need to know about consumer preferences. Online surveys are an easy way for collecting consumer opinions to guide these companies. In exchange for you opinions they will compensate you with cash, prizes, or sweepstakes entries. Some of them even send you sample products, and pay you to conduct product evaluations.

How much can you make with paid surveys?

Your earning potential depends on the number, type and duration of the surveys you get. The type of and frequency of surveys you get are based on the company needs. Specifically what campaigns they are running, so you may get more one month and less the next. Typical surveys take 10 to 30 minutes to complete, and the cash paying survey generally reward you $2 to $50 or possible more for every survey you complete. Others may give you gift certificates or enter you into sweepstakes for cash or prizes. Some sites occasionally offer focus groups, these usually lasts 1 or 2 hours, but generally pay more than $50. For more details and user comments about a particular paid survey site be sure to check out our paid survey reviews page.

Why do they ask me for my personal information?

After you join a survey site, you will be asked to complete a profile which includes details about you, your family, hobbies, interest, and personal habits. This profile information is then used to match you up with the particular surveys they are offering. Remember all of the sites listed on this site are legitimate market research companies, and your personal data will not be abused. You will not receive spam from these sites. They only send you email when they have survey invitations for you.

Are taxes already taked out of earnings or do I have to pay income tax on money earned for taking surveys?

Taxes are not deducted from your survey earnings ahead of time. If at the end of the year, a survey panel has paid you $600 or more, they will send you an IRS Form 1099 which you should file as "miscellaneous income" on your tax return. Again this is per panel, so for example if you earn $400 from panel A and $300 from panel B, you are okay and do not have to file the earnings.

How do I know if a paid survey is going on and what should I expect?

You will be notified via email to take a survey if you are opinions are needed for a particular campaign. The survey invite will contain a link to the starting page of the survey, and the email will usually tell you in advance of the compensation you will get if you complete the survey. Sometimes they will have a few initial screening questions to see if you are entitled to complete the survey. If you are not qualified to continue the survey, you are generally given an entry into a sweepstakes or given a small amounts of points (redeemable for cash). Otherwise, the survey will continue and will receive a confirmation of the reward upon completion.

Where do I start?

Continue on and read the tips below. This will help get you started in the right direction. Then I would suggest that you get started out with the recommended paid survey list. The sites on the recommend list offer cash incentives and generally offer more surveys and higher rewards than some of the other sites. After joining all of the recommended sites, continue on to the full paid surveys pages and join the sites that interest you. Remember all of the sites and information on this site are free. You should never pay for information about online surveys. Don't be scammed by other pay survey sites that charge fees, we offer the same information, if not better here, and its completely free!

Starting Tips

* Profile surveys are very important. Consumer research companies need to learn more about you, so that they can match you up with the proper surveys. To do this many of the survey sites request that you fill out profile surveys. Even though these are usually not paid surveys, they increase your chances of getting the higher paid surveys. This also shows your commitment for being a serious survey taker.

* Set up a separate Email account for your paid surveys. Once you sign up with the market research firms, you will begin to receive a steady stream of survey request. We recommend that you set up a separate email address so that all of your survey emails are in one location and do not get mixed up with your personal email. You don't want to miss any important survey offers. There are several free email sites out there (yahoo, hotmail, etc.) Remember to check your email often so you don't miss any survey invitations.

* Take advantage of free software that can store personal information to automate filling out forms. This will speed up the process of filling out common information like name, address, etc. We recommend RoboForm or the the Autofill feature in the Google Toolbar.

* You need to establish yourself as a reliable survey taker. Take all of the survey offers that offered at first, even if they are only rewarded with sweepstakes entries. This will allow you to build up a strong track record with the individual survey sites. Soon you will start receiving more survey offers than you can handle. Once you are satisfied with the volume of survey invitations you are receiving, you can then focus on the more lucrative surveys that interest you.

Checking your paid survey accounts.

You should check your accounts from time to time. It is important to check on the number of points or cash level you have accumulated. and whether or not you have reached the requirements necessary to cash out. Also, some of these sites occasionally add more profile surveys, so it is important to fill these out, and update any changes to your existing profile information so that you get the appropriate survey invitations. In addition some of these sites offer bonuses just for logging into the site. For example, MySurvey.com gives you an entry into their $10,000 sweepstakes for every day you log in, and LightSpeed offers mini polls on their site that will reward you with an entry into their $5,000 quarterly drawing.

Paid surveys site review - American Consumer Opinion Review

Regions Of Participation: International
Minimum Age to Join: open to ages 14 and up
Rewards: Cash ($4 to $25 per survey)
Url: www.acop.com

American Consumer Opinion Information

Well despite its name, American Consumer Opinion® survey panel is international, welcoming residents of all nations. American Consumer Opinion® is owned and operated by Decision Analyst, Inc., a major international marketing research firm headquartered in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the United States. American Consumer Opinion® is made up of consumers worldwide who have agreed to participate in our paid opinion survey panel.

Program Details and Suggestions

Getting Started. Basically all you have to do is complete the initial sign up process, and then update your profile later on their site if you have any major changes in your life, new house, get married, etc. They do not really have a detailed member's area like some of the other panels.

What to expect? American Consumer Panel relies heavily on screener surveys (short profile surveys) to match you up with potential paid research studies. Completing a screener survey will enter you into a drawing for a cash reward, and based on the results of your screener survey, you may be chosen to participate in the full survey which usually can be completed in 10 to 20 minutes. Incentives for these surveys can range from $4 to $25 per survey. In addition all registered members are automatically entered in a monthly drawing for $250. American consumer offers payment in the form of a check, and payment arrives within four weeks.

Advice: Since all of American Consumer Opinion's surveys can lead to cash incentives, and since they do not send out frequent invitations I would recommend that you try to take all of their screener surveys. Plus, you will be entered into a drawing for a cash reward for just completing the short screener survey, and unlike some other panels I have actually won a couple of these sweepstakes drawings.

Review

Scale: 1 = Lowest, 10 = Highest

Quality of Surveys (9)

* Surveys are well written and easy to follow
* Surveys are interesting, and can generally be completed in less than 20 minutes

Frequency of Surveys (6)

* Expect about two to six screeners per month.

Timely Payment / Payment Options (8)

* No minimum required to request payment. You are paid for each survey completed.
* Payment delivered via mail, and usually arrives within 4 weeks.

Survey Panel Member's Area Site / Member Support (8)

* American Consumer Panel's web site gives members the ability to update their basic profile information. No other statistics can be obtained there.
* Good support options including a toll-free number; panel supports many languages for international panelist.

Editor's Overall Panel Ranking (8.2)

The Bottom Line

American Consumer Opinion offers excellent compensation per survey, and the quality of their surveys is good. The only drawback is they do not offer as many surveys as other panels, and their member's area has limited functionality. You can expect any where from two to six screeners per month. I usually qualify for about half, so I average about two paid surveys per month. The pay per survey is excellent though and it is not uncommon to receive surveys that pay over $10. Definitely Recommend!

MySurvey Comany Background

NFO (National Family Opinion) established its first consumer panel in 1946 to help businesses and industries develop products that people want and need. At that time, the postal service and telephone was the main avenues to reach their panelists. In 1995, they took their panel online, and began to ask their consumers for their opinions via the Internet and email. In 2003 NFO MySurvey joined forces with TNS, another major market research company. This new combined company was called TNS NFO, and is now the second largest research firm in the world. Recently NFO MySurvey dropped the NFO, and now simply goes by MySurvey.com.

TNS is one of the leading global paid online survey panels, accepting survey panelists from the continental United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, and Asia-Pacific. You must be at least 14 years of age to join in the US, and at least 15 years old elsewhere. Each of the panels for the various regions offers different types of incentives, as noted above. The specific details for the US panel follow.

MySurvey US Panel Details and Our Suggestions

Getting Started. Once you sign up to become a member of the MySurvey panel they will automatically enter you into $10,000 sweepstakes as a welcoming gesture. After you complete your first survey you will get entered into a 50,0000 reward sweepstakes. Also, once you become a member you will be given access to access to the members area. Here you will gain access to your contact information, your reward points balance, your current open surveys, a referral page, and the rewards redemption page. Currently they our offering 150 points for each referral. MySurvey does not have a profile's section, they use short screeners to qualify you instead.

What to expect? After you have successfully become a member, MySurvey will begin to email you short screener survey invitations when they have studies that match your profile. You can also login to the site to get more details about the survey invitation, specifically the points being offered. Most screener surveys pay between 10 to 30 points, but many of these lead to higher paying surveys that can pay as much as 1000 points. The screener surveys is their way of qualifying you for higher paying surveys, so it is important that you complete them. You should two to six screener surveys per week, but remember not all of these will lead to higher paying surveys. You must accumulate at least 1000 points before you can redeem your points for cash, and currently 1000 points will earn you $10. You may also redeem your points for prizes. If you request payment in the form of a cash, they will send you a check via mail, which you should expect to see within 2 to 6 weeks.

Advice: We recommend that you take as many of the screener surveys as possible, since most can be completed within 5 minutes. Again, completing the screener surveys are important, because they can lead to higher paying surveys. Also we recommend that you try to login to the members area once a day, since you get one entry a day for the $10000 sweepstakes and the daily 10000 point giveaway just for logging in.

Paid surveys site review - GlobalTestMarket Review

Regions Of Participation: International
Minimum Age to Join: 14
Rewards: market points redeemable for cash
Average Pay Per Survey: $2.50 to $15
Url: www.globaltestmarket.com

GlobalTestMarket Company Information

GlobalTestMarket was founded in August 1999 as a division of Global Market Insite, Inc. The intention was to develop a global solution for companies who wish to conduct online consumer research across multiple countries. Today the GlobalTestMarket community consists of over 6 million members in over 200 countries. Members have already been rewarded over $2.8 Million USD since January 1st, 2007.

GlobalTestMarket is unique online community that accepts consumers from around the world. Panel members receive webs surveys about movie trailers, new cars, current events, and new consumer products and services.

Program Details and Suggestions

Getting Started. Once you sign up to become a member, you will gain access to the GlobalTestMarket members page. The members site gives you access to your contact information, your member profiles and survey history for last 30 days, your market balance , answers to common questions, and a referral page where you can earn extra points for referring your friends. Our first recommendation is to fill out the ten profile surveys in the members area. These profile surveys are not rewarded, but are quick to fill out, and will enable you to get more survey offers, specifically those that are suitable for you.

What to expect? After you sign up you should take the profile surveys in the member's area, they currently have 10 profile surveys. Profile surveys are important because they will help GlobalTestMarket send you more surveys that match your demographics, and you earn 10 market points per completed profile. Take all 10 and you will earn 100 points which is 10% of points needed for redemption. Then you can earn more points by taking online surveys. GlobalTestMarket will automatically email you survey invitations that they feel may be a close match to your profile, but you can also access your surveys from the member's area in the profiles section . Each invitation will indicate the range of points that you can earn for attempting the survey. For instant, if the range is 5 - 100 points, that means you will get 5 points if you attempt the survey and do not qualify. If you do qualify and complete the survey you will get 100 points. The amount of surveys you will receive depends on your profile and the current studies being conducted, but in general you should expect several invitations a week.

The good thing about GlobalTestMarket is that they all of their surveys are rewarded with cash incentives, and they usually give you a minimum amount of points even if you do not qualify for the survey. Once you have accumulated 1000 points you can go to the marketpoints area in the members section and redeem your points for cash. Payment is delivered via mail in the form of a check in your local currency. Delivery times range from 4 to 6 weeks for North American members and 6-8 weeks for everywhere else.

Advice: Since you may not qualify for all of the surveys, and since most surveys offer an incentive for just attempting the survey, we recommend that you take all of the surveys GlobalTestMarket sends you. If your schedule does not permit this, then take as many surveys as possible. If you are not getting many surveys, check your profiles section, and make sure they are completed and up to date. Remember you get an extra 10 marketpoints for each completed profile survey. The most important advice is to answer the surveys honestly, and to take time to answer them correctly. Rushing through the surveys will often cause you to overlook something and as a result not qualify for the survey. The better your responses, the more likely it is that you will be invited to take future paid surveys.

Review

Scale: 1 = Lowest, 10 = Highest

Quality of Surveys (8)

Surveys are easy to understand
Surveys are fairly interesting, and can usually be completed in 20 minutes or less.

Compensation for Surveys (9)

Compensation is good: $2.50 to $15 average for completed surveys
Even if you do not qualify for a survey, you are given some market points just for trying.

Frequency of Surveys (10)

GlobalTestMarket sends several paid survey invitations per week.

Timely Payment / Payment Options (7)

1000 point minimum required to redeem your points.
Payment delivered via mail, and usually arrives within 2 to 6 weeks.

Survey Panel Member's Area Site (10)

Easy navigation with links for accessing your rewards balance, profiles, and your survey history for the last 30 days.
Good help section with answers to common questions
Referral page where you can refer your friends and earn even more points.

Editor's Overall Panel Ranking (8.8)

Conclusion

GlobalTestMarket offers lots of surveys, and the compensation generally ranges in the $2.50 to $15 dollar range. All of there surveys offer cash incentives, and the point amount is clearly marked in the survey invitation. An improvement would be if they also included the survey topic, so that panel members could decide if the survey was something that they were interested in. There is a 1000 point minimum to redeem your points for cash, and you will receive payment via the mail within 2 to 6 weeks. They have a a very good member web site which makes it easy to keep track of your market points balance. We give GlobalTestMarket high marks for its overall earnings potential, and we definitely recommend this panel!
